Default CG for Clancy Aviations Speedy Bee ?

Texas 3 D: I just checked my Speedy Bee plans. The CG is 3 and 3/4" from the leading edge of the wing. I moved my CG a little aft, but don't remember how much. I've been flying mine since '98 and have about a 150 flights or more on it. I'm using an OS .26 Surpass with an APC 10 x 5 prop. I built Clancy's floats and use em off snow- work great.

Thanks Gbee ! Guess what, it turned out that my Speedy Bee is a Newbee from Adrian Page Apparently neither me or the guys in the store didn't know, until a friend of mine saw it and told me what is was. He has one to. Great little flier, and it seems to handle the wind pretty good. My kids will love it.

Texas 3D: I also have an Adrian Page Newbee, and I've mixed feelings about it. It doesn't fly as slow as the Speedy Bee but it's more aerobatic (flys inverted good) and looks better (and no darn rubber bands). I like the Speedy Bee's flight characteristics better for slow close-in flying. Let me know what you think of the Newbee's flight characteristics. My beef is that it needs a lot more speed to keep it in the air. I moved the CG way back on the Newbee and actually mounted mini servos under the stab for rudder & elevator. Do you need the CG for the Newbee 'cause I have the plans??

Yeah, I'll take the CG for this bird to. I just balanced it slightly behind the spar.
You know, if it is more aerobatic then the Speedy Bee, I am actually pretty happy because I do fly normally 3D stuff. I am already thinking of putting a Saito 30 on there and change some throws (to maximum on high rates). I only got one flight in on Saturday before it started to rain, and it looked like a neat little flier. Everything went uneventful and I will start to wring her out shortly It looks like I can get her to hover with the right engine prop combo. We will see.

CG for the Newbee is 3" from the leading edge. I moved mine aft about 1/2".

Thanks, I am at 3 1/2" back right now. I will try to move another 1/4" Let's see if we can get that baby to hover right
