I was looking to get some clear gloss that is fuel proof to put over some custom graphics that I am having made up. I see that Top Flight makes a gloss clear and also Cheveron makes a gloss clear. Which is better in your opinion? Which is most fuel proof, least likely to chip, crack etc. Thanks for the advice,

Allan

Doesn't anyone have an opinion on these 2 paints? Or should I go with some other kind of fuel proof paint?

The Chevron clear yellows, haven't used the Top Flight clear. The last clear I used was an automotive clear which was expensive, but did not yellow. Both were fuel proof and did not chip.

Well based on this I should probably go with the automotive clear.

Thanks for the advice!

Any advice on brands of automotive paint? Does the local autoparts store carry it, or do I have to mail order?

Thanks

Allan

What I have is Dupont Chroma Clear, but any of the automotive clear coats should be fine. You can add a flattener agent to get the disired gloss. You need to purchase it from a Automotive Paint Retail shop-one that supplies the autobody people and custom mixes paint. An autoparts place will not have that. You will also need spray equipment, it's not an aerosol. Good luck.

Wow, sounds like that is getting a little beyond my budget. I was just looking for something that is in a can and is fuel proof. Maybe I will give the Top Flight paint a try. I definatly don't want the yellowing that you are refering to.
