What sunglasses would you recommend for flying?
I recently moved and the field I fly at has a bad orientation that puts the sun directly in your face when landing. I am curious if anybody recommends any sunglasses that are better then any others.

I wear prescription, but definately believe polarized lenses are worth the added cost.
Gargoyles seem to be the norm. I see lots of fliers with the heavy-duty three-sides covered Zurich sun glasses.

Randolph Engineering: They have superb optical quality glass lenses and almost zero colour degredation. Don't be fooled by the so-called 'designer' sunglasses, they're nearly all c**p! If Randolphs are good enough for the U.S. Airforce, then they'll do for me!!!

RE: What sunglasses would you recommend for flying?
I just picked up a pair of Native sunglasses, Hardtop model, for $140 from REI. They main (dark) lenses are real nice on sunny days plus they are polarized and they make a huge difference over my regular cheap flea market sunglasses.
They also come with interchangeable lenses (orange, yellow, and clear) for overcast days which should help improve the contrast between the plane and clouds when it's at a distance. I just got these glasses, so I haven't had the chance to try these other lenses out yet. I just know the polarized lenses work great. I used to lose orientation on the plane at least once per day with my old glasses, but with these Natives, that hasn't happened yet.
Another nice bonus is that they come with a lifetime warantee, and I've read that they're very good about honoring it.
