Default Anyone using a GPS for flight logging?

Is anyone using a GPS for flight logging? I am thinking of using my E-Trex as it is fairly robust, small/light, and has a PC link.

I will wrap the unit in a thin layer of foam. The antenna will need a good sky view. It could go on the top of the wing right above the fuse, which should make maintaining the CG easy. Would putting the weight up top like that cause any control issues?

I know the altitude on a GPS w/o a barometer is a bit inaccurate, but hopefully relative altitude from a ground reading just before/after flight should be close enough.

I also noticed Garmin has a new unit coming out next month called the Geko 201 thats slightly smaller, and significantly lighter (3.1oz vs 5.3oz) than my E-trex. I might have to get one if this works well.

Anyone have any advice / experience / comments on this?

Not GPS but I've seen some people use the LoLo:
