I just bought a Saito 72 4 stroke, what is the nipple in the bottom of the crankcase for? Is it a vent? Should I leave it open or what???

It's a vent. leave it open; or you might want to run a small piece of tubing to keep you engine clean.

stgrlee, put some fuel tubing on it and run it out the bottom of the plane. Try and keep it short and don't allow it to kink up. If it kinks performance will go way down.

Ditto. That is a crankcase pressure release. It will vent air in and out as the piston goes up and down, It will blow more out than take in due to any pwer blow-by of the piston. Residual burnt fuel/oil will blow out of it (real Messy), so a line to somewhere outside the fuse (usually just out the bottom of the engine compartment) is desirable.

Use that breather tube to inject after run oil also. This is critical in four strokes.
