There was a book with your engine that should describe the process.

Okay, befor Ken post's, there are 2 ways of doing it. The first is to follow the manufactures instructions or do it like I do it. Put it on your plane, get your plane ready to fly, head out to the field and after all the needed safety procedures have been followed, fire up the engine. Start with opening the needle valve about 3 full turns and and get her running. At full power you can adjust the needle valve in or out to get her running rich, and fly it. After 3 or 4 flights, you can tune it up by adjusting the needle valve and the low speed, if your engine has one and enjoy it. Good Luck, Dave

Depends on the engine. A ringed engine needs a completely different procedure from an ABC, or ABN engine. You need to know exactly what you have, or you could ruin a good motor.

Is your engine a ringed engine, or a lapped engine? Is it an ABC, ABN, or is it an AAC engine. All these things matter if you want the engine to live long and prosper.

turn about 3 turns out start it up let it warm up go full throttle for 5 minutes cut off let cool off. fill tank start again warm up go full throttle turn in a half turn let it run a tank out cut off let cool fill tank start again go full throttle lean motor out and back off half turn run for 5 minutes to make sure that you are not to lean stick finger over exhaust hole if oil is one finger you are good buy now you should be running good with no change in rpm. remember when you first start on 3 turns out the motor will run rough and as you go in on tunrns it will get better about 2 or 3 tanks it should hold a good setting.remember always fill tank before each step when tank gets low motor will lean out some. kenny from albany ga
