Default engine test stand

does any one have a good design for a engine test stand? if you have a photo of it thats always good.

You didn't say whether you wanted one for small or large engines but look at the following thread:

thanks all good ideas! right now all i have are .46 and .90 engines.

Curley, are you going to stay with the hobby? If so you will definitely want to invest in a good engine test stand. Remember that lots of accidents have been caused by inferior, homemade test stands. So start out with an aluminum stand from Tatone or others and mount it solidly to something heavy and safe. Some folks have permanantly mounted a test stand to a cement block.

Take Ernie's advice

I had a McCoy 19 fly out of a vice and chew on my left knee, Not a good feeling. Still have faint scars after 30+ years.
