RE: sig astro hog
I had a Hog built, per plan option, as a tail dragger. It wasn’t terrible about nosing over but it did do it more than a lot of planes. After the plane was built I saw a thread on RCU that suggested putting the gear blocks in the wing about an inch in front of where the plans specify. Since you have to cut the notches in the ribs yourself, this would have been easy to do during the build. A hard landing loosened one gear block. I bought a Dubro nylon/fiberglass gear and mounted it in front of the wing. That’s slightly further forward than you really need but it’s the easiest thing to do on a finished plane.
