Default TME smoke tank setup question

I looked at the TME smoke system and started to plumb my tank with a three line set up. TME shows a three line set up with the vent line going to the bottom of the tank along with the fill line. I always put my vent line pointed to the top of the tank. Is there a reason to run the vent line this way? I don't get it. You can see for yourself on their website, just download the manual.

Default RE: TME smoke tank setup question

I didn't go to the website, but the manual with my TME Simple Smoker shows diagrams in two places showing the vent line and fill line both going to the top of the tank. This doesn't make sense to me, because you can't empty the tank through the fill line that way.

I used a 3-line setup, but did the "double clunk" version where the fill line goes to one clunk line, allowing filling or emptying, and the feed line is on the other clunk, and the vent goes to the top of the tank. My vent line exits the bottom of the fuse, and I made a loop around the tank with the vent line to prevent fluid from draining out when the plane is inverted.

Default RE: TME smoke tank setup question

I ran mine with the vent line going up as well. I have not had one problem with mine ran that way yet.
