I have used 60 minute epoxy to secure Klett hinges on 2 airplanes. I have never had a klett hinge fail. I rough up the gluing surfaces of the hinges with coarse sandpaper to give the epoxy something to grab. I have no experience with the other glues you mentioned.

Where do you fly? I fly at the Sky Pirates field in Pipersville and the Warminster-Glenside club's field in Doylestown.

I think they changed the formulation of the non-ferrous parts some years ago. Used to be that if you where using the hinges for any stressful flying, like for aerobatic uses, or with large flying surfaces, then you also had to pin the hinges using a small drill and "toothpick" hard wood. They had a habit of coming un-glued, and the dowel was insurance.

I think they changed the formulation some decades ago, but if you have a set of the older ones, beware, for they are made using "Un-gluium"

Sure, I know of that club. Some of the guys in the clubs I belong to also fly there. If you get up this way stop in and check out the WGRC and Sky Pirates fields. I can give you directions. PM me if you're interested.

Best regards,
Jon
