Default Dual conversion RX

I am getting back into RC airplanes and I bought a flight pack that has a dual conversion RX (futaba FP-r127DF) My question is will a tower hobbies system 3000 6 channal controler work with it? would I need to change crystald or what would I need to do. I know I have to match crystals but what would I need to get to make them work together if posable. Both were bought on Ebay and do work. the radio controler has not come in yet.

Default RE: Dual conversion RX

From what I've heard, much of the Tower branded radio gear is made by Futaba, so it should work. You need a receiver crystal that matches the frequency that's already in the transmitter. Don't just buy any old crystal, get the Futaba crystal that's made for your receiver. You can find the crystal numbers for Futaba receivers on this page: http://www.futaba-rc.com/radioaccys/futl26.html .

Also note that buying second hand equipment from eBay can be an "adventure". Sometimes things turn out great and other times, you end up with someone else's problem. If they're not new and you're going to put these in a plane, it would not be a bad idea to box them up and send them to a repair service, such as [link=http://radiosouthrc.com/]Radio South[/link]. Having them go through them could save a crashed plane, fly away, or even worse, an injury.
