I have a couple of them look on the back for a gold sticker that has something like "RC/MA AMA RF check" with a date stamped in it should be '91 or better I think. You should get a new battery for it and the reciever too.

How old is the radio, what year did you buy it. Futabas from 90 on were gold stickered. Conquests were FM. I do not know if pre 90 the Futabas were gold I may be wrong, meaning 86-89 years.

I believe EVERY Futaba Conquest built was 1991 compliant, narrow band frequencies. The easiest way to tell is simply by reading the frequency number on the sticker on the transmitter. If it is one of the numbered frequencies on [link=http://www.futaba-rc.com/faq/frequency.html]this chart,[/link] then you're all set.

excellent, its good!!!!!! i charged the batteries 5 days ago and they are still holding charge, i am amazed! i cycled the batteries 3x's. it takes more than over night to drain the batteries leaving the rx and tx on so i figure they are still good.

Conquests were produced in Am and FM Versions, there was even a PCM version. All the FM and PCM versions were narrowband compliant.
The AM versions were produced long before and after the 91 narrowbanding. AM versions produced after 91 are compliant and were gold stickered from the factory. However many earlier versions were not.
The final cutoff date for manufacturer narrowbanding of non compliant tx's actually occured in 1998. However some independant shops continued this lucrative trade long after that date.
