Default primer help ?

hi,
i am new to construction methods and am a bit confused. i fiberglass sheeted surfases and i want to paint them.
i used epoxy finishing resin. is it posible epoxy resin to produse wax or wax is prodused only with fiberglasing polyester resins?
i see that many suggests to wipe the glased surfase with alcohol before sanding.
also i found automotive primers that is caled 4+1 or 3+1 (bodyfiller brand).this mean that i use 3 parts primer and 1 part hardener.also if i want to thin the mixture i do this with acryl thinner to 10-15%.
i know that there is many product from hobby shops that is exactly for this task but in the area i live there is no hobby shop.considerind that these chemicals are dangerus it is dificult to order them from internet.
so the only solution i have is to use automotive materials paints ant primers. i read on the can that it is " high build primer"
can i use this primer?????
on the bare wood?
also found many primers that are thined with nitro . nitro= acryl ??
any sugestions?
i am new to kit building and tryind to figure things out. can i shoot primer and paint with same air gun? (i have 1mm needle)
do i need extra needles and wich sizes?
any help will be apresiated.
thanks very much

Default RE: primer help ?

Epoxy does something different when it cures. It is called Amino Blush. The surface must be chemicaly wiped and sanded and wiped again to remove this blush before applying anything over it. You can use primer over epoxy. Just make sure you have a continous even coat of primer before you apply your topcoat or it will shadow.

Wiping with alcohol should be sufficient. Then spray the primer and sand back to the high spots of the weave. Repeat until the weave is filled. I like to use 320 wet sanding for this. Be careful that you don't sand through the glass. Also, make sure you let the primer thouroghly dry between sandings or the primer will shrink slightly and still show the weave. If you have any large low spots, use an auto body spot filler and sand.
