Longest flight duration and distance?
What is the longest distance an rc plane has flown? Also what is the longest duration an rc plane has been flown? This is not including planes like the drones the militaty uses or something like that.

Excuse my memory but a few years ago some folks made a long distance flight for a world record and I think it started on the East coast somewhere and ended in Scotland. You might try the AMA web site and search for records, they were involved >

yes but he said excluding military.
I believe the longest flight was from Nova Scotia to Ireland.

Being from Nova Scotia we would love to claim he started in Nova Scotia but the flight actually originated in Newfoundland and ended in Ireland.

Maynard Hill holds most of the FAI rc records. The transatlantic flight from Cape Spear Newfoundland to Mannin Beach Ireland covered 3030km. His duration record is 33hours, 39 minutes and his altitude record is 8205 meters! See http://records.fai.org/pilot.asp?from=model&id=569

Thanks for telling me that Maynard Hill holds the longest duration at 33 hours and 39 minutes under radio control flight. I still want to know the longest distance without useing GPS or Autonomous Flight controls. All the distances you have shown me have used this method.

I believe Maynard Hill also holds the distance record as you are describing. His transAtlantic flight beat his own prevous record distance which was piloted from a motor vehicle chasing the plane. I don't know the distance involved.
