Prop. 15x6-10
I have been flying for a year an a half now, an have never used any props that were out of the norm. But i was given a top flite prop that is a 15x6-10. Now I have used the top flight props before. The 6-10 threw me for a loop.Is it a 6 or 10 pitch? an will my saito 72 swing it

G'day Mate,
check here, http://saito-engines.info/prop_sizes.html
I don't think your 72 will handle that much prop.

RE: Prop. 15x6-10
Hi!
Of course not!
It s just a prop like any other...not new in any sense...and doesn't flex more than any other prop. I bought my first 6-10" props 25 years ago.
It's just that they have a 6"pitch at the root which increases to 10" at the tip ...nothing fancy about that! But those Zinger props I used back then (in the mid eighties) were rather good.
A Saito .72 can't handle a 15x6-10" prop...way, way to big prop.

RE: Prop. 15x6-10
Nearly all of the work performed by a prop is done by the outer half of the blade. The inner half is drag and material to support the outer half. For this section of the blade any pitch less than ten inches woud be an improvement. However if that part of the blade was zero pitch it wuld be one wierd shaped blade. A 6" pitch at the root is probably the least pitch that will give a common sense transition from the root to 10" pitch at the tip for that diameter.
