die to thread 1.2mm rod for control linkages?
hi all
im looking for a die to thread 1.2mm rod for control linkages anyone know of any?
ive been looking for days
al i found was a Thread Maker with a 2mm Die at http://www.helihobby.com/html/rc_heli_tools.html
2mm is a bit bigger than what i need

You could use a 1mm die... if you really need metric. However, if you want it in human threads, a 3-48 would be the largest. It's a hair too small for 4-40 threads.

The pre threaded rods you buy are typically "roll cut" not die cut threads. This means that the threaded portion is actually a larger diameter than the rod. Thus, you can't put a thread on the rod with a cutting die.

It would probably be easier and cheaper to use something like [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD895&P=0]this[/link] and a Z bend or an [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEMG3&P=0]EZ Link[/link] on the other end. You could also use [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD930&P=0]one of these[/link] on the servo.
