Anyone here from NE Texas?
I originally hail from Gilmer, TX but i went to diana school.. then to Kilgore college.. now i am in my last year at Stephen F. Austin university in Nacogdoches, but plan to move back home to teach agriculture in the Gilmer area.. hopefully at diana when the current teacher retires.. anyway, i fly at the nacogdoches aeromodeler's club during the week bc they charge no dues for college students, yippeeee!!! but on the weekends i go home and fly on my grandfather's farm, was looking into joining a club in the longview area but dont know what their dues are etc. if anyone from the area knows pm me please, i would love to fly off of pavement when i am in on the weekends.. i assume longview's field is paved?

Using the AMA club search
http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx
and a Longview zip code (75601)
There are 2 clubs within 25 miles and 6 within 50 miles
4 of the clubs have web site links listed

Hi:
No Longview's field is not paved. It is built on top of the city dump. It is grass, but very short. It's an ok field,
plenty long anbd lies approx. N - S. Our prevailing wind is usually somewhat across the runway, but the field
is wide, so no problem, even in stout wind conditions.
We would love to have you fly, anytime. Helicopters are welcome, also.
