2. switch to a spark-ignited gasoline engine. Much less mess.
3. use a Pitts type muffler, helps a lot shooting the exhaust down under.
4. fly gliders.
5. stick to a flight simulator.
In addition, there is a thread about using a mix of gasoline and glow fuel. You might check that out. I didn't read it all, to see if the mess is reduced. I prefer method 2, above.
Good luck,

Just part of the game. Clean up your airplane after every flight with a good cleaner. Make sure your cleaner has no ammonia as this will mess up the glue on the monokote causing bubbles.

Not much you can do. As you've seen, a deverter can help, but it's not 100%
4-strokes and gassers are a LOT less messy.
Also the design of the plane can make a difference, One plane may not collect as much as another.
Bottom line, if you don't like to clean oil off your plane, you'll need to go electric or switch hobbies
