electronic ignition module mounting
Would it be okay to mount the EI module on the side of the firewall box that the engine mounts to, or would there be a potential issue with vibration? What if I rubber mounted it or placed a cushion between the module and box? The engine is a Fuji BT32EI.
Something like this is what I have in mind, the spot is convenient:

RE: electronic ignition module mounting
Thanks, guys. This is my first electronic ignition, my other gassers are magnetos. I'm using 2.4GHz radio, so interference shouldn't be a problem. The receiver will be concealed under the front seat, about 15" from the spark plug and module.

RE: electronic ignition module mounting
Hi khodges,
I think we may have corresponded before in my earlier RC Univ incantation as campbec.
Despite 2.4GHZ it is still possible to get nasties into the system from servo leads. Not a good idea to have the throttle servo near the ignition module mine glitched to blazes until I put the servo back in the fuselage and ran a golden rod to the throttle arm on the carby.
Cheers,
Colin
