Default Herr P-51 dihedral??????

I bought a 1/2A Herr P-51 Mustang kit and was reading through the plans.
The dihedral called for in the plans is 4 inches!!

Basically it makes the whole thing look a bit silly and wanted to know if I cut the dihedral down to half, what kind of effect would it have on performance/handling.
The wing span is 42 inches.

Thanks in advance.

4 inches total. 2 inches on each side. If you were to put one edge against the edge of your workbench, the other wing would be 4 inches from the edge.

It will become pretty unstable, for example in the turnings it will show tendency to flip over
and then follows a stall and might crash. It is the position of the Center of Gravity which should
be maintained in vertical below or at least on the level of the wing tips.
