OS 91 4stroke and 10 lb plane
Howdi
I have a OS 91 surpass 4 stroke engine and was thinking of putting it on a 10 lb plane (EMB 312 Tucano from Nitro Models). It calls for a 1.20 4c in the manual but doesnt give a low end engine size. Would i be going too under powered with the 91?
- Some advice or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

A lot of times if only one size is recommended, it is the minimum.
In theory you'll get about 11 pounds of static thrust with a 14x6 prop turning between 9500 and 10000. A 91 four stroke will do this.
If theory is true the 91 should fly the plane pretty well.

Depends, does your st2300 run reliably. Mine stinks, but it would really pull the crap out of the tucano.
P.S. your 90 2st should pull stronger then your 4 stroke.

MY TF Cessna tips the scales at 14 pounds. My Magnum 91 is plenty for this plane. Although I use full power for take-off, I usually putt around the sky at 1/2 - 2/3 throttle.

I have a 10 1/2 lb P-47 with a .91 fs and it is a stretch. Go with a 1.20 for the Tucano.I bought one at Kondor and paid thru the nose after seeing NItromodels at 139.00 I putting a 1.20 on it after checking other forums
