Saito 82a
I'm flying a Saito 82a in a Cub and would like to know what I can do to stop it from burping. Flying nice lazy circles and the engine runs fine, but every now and then it will burp, or sound like it quit, but is still running?

Sounds like you might be a bit rich, or maybe an occasional air bubble in the line. Is the engine new? Do you have the tank padded to reduce foaming?

If the engine is still fairly new, the low speed needle might still be a bit rich. Sounds like this is happening at low throttle? I would try leaning out the low end a bit at a time. If it gets to the point where it hesitates when you go from idle to wide open, richen it back up a bit.

Yes the engine is still new maybe 9 14oz. tanks run through it. Usually running at 1/2 to 3/4 T. Tank is padded good. It doesn't happen when sitting on the ground and running, just when flying? So I wouldn't think it would be air bubbles. Will try leaning it out a little.
Thanks, Rich
