Thanks for the link. It helps settle my nerves a bit knowing what is going on. I really hope things get cleaned up with this mess, but if the son really sued the father it may take more than a short time to ever heal those type of feeling.

I travel to Minn every month .ABOut two years ago I started a post called "favorite hobby shops in the USA " , I travel virtually every state but Alaska and I have to say that Hobbywarehouse /skyhobbies is my all time favorite . The dad and jeremy are the best in the business . I would walk in and say " I need a spinner adapter for a OS 120 ect ect , Jeremy was like this woner boy of part and size knowlegde . He spit out , you need an """ and he would go get it . I have spent a ton of money in that store and sometimes gone months before I could get back in and they always allowed me to return something if I purchased the wrong item .(unused of course ) .
I sincerly hope they will reopen because I felt it was one show that had all the giant mail order guys beat on servace , price and the business model .
Its a shop that you can spend 2 hours just looking at the ceiling at used planes for sale , then another day at that inventory and best yet they have the best prices never beaten ever as far as I was concerned .
They know me as the candy guy , Jeremy thought I was a pilot for Northwest lol , because I was in there so often on my trips .
Trying getting a Saito 180 on line $349 .... everyone is $399 ect ect .
They just did it right , and I hope it works out

I hope you did not get stuck with one of their gift certificates. Worthless paper now. Ouch.

HI all,
I was in the Hobby Warehouse store in Richfield last Friday, May 1st.
Tom is running that location now and his son Jeremy has opened the Sky Hobbies business in Eagan off Yankee Doodle road and Federal.
The Richfield store moved 150 feet south into the old Erik's bike shop store awhile ago.

I have won things online on Ebay and it was Jeremy who was completing the orders and leading the online business for them. They're great people, give great advice and don't want to lose a sale to anyone like Tower Hobbies. I always get prompt help and occassionally find a price is flexible if Tom's checking you out.

Lastly, you can get a new S3003 Futaba servo from Tom for $11, Tower sells those for $13.99.
Don't be fooled by the web!

Thanks,

Please elaborate , I thought they were building inventory in the old store , is that now closed 100% and is the new store stocked ???
I have been to Jeremys store , its great , but the OLD HB was desolate and still somewhat depressing , I hope the new store is an image of the once thriveing business that it once was .

Hi All,
Another Hobby Warehouse, (Richfield, MN) update:

I was in the store on Friday May 29th, Tom saw me sitting in my truck at 9:45 AM and let me in before opening at 10.
He has the entire building filled to the ceilings with merchandise.
He's got it organized, well lit and he's fully up and running.

As we know, the ARF and RTF + Park flyer enthusiasm is taking up a lot of space on the web and it's the same in the store.
There are fewer good builders out there who enjoy the process from a stack of wood to flying, but it seems more people who decide to enter RC, want to fly right away..

You can get all the brands, including the much-maligned Seagullbrand of planes.

He's not much into cars, but I think I saw a few. Maybe that's the specialty of his son in the new store.

I wouldn't worry about them not having what you need, so shop hard and often.

As a side note...Ialmost won a Seagull models RAAF Pilatus PC-9 on Ebay...it ended at $145 delivered to 55441
I could buy a similar Seagull models kit from Tom for $135 and have it right away,so...I think I'll continue to avoid ebay.

Have fun flying and buying.

Hi all,
I was in Hobby Warehouse in Richfield again on Saturday.
They had a Dynatron Heavy Duty 12/24 starter for $89 and a 12 v torqmaster sealed battery for $10.99
Tower Hobbies wants $99 for the starter and Hobby Town in Brooklyn Park wanted $109.99.
It's worth the drive and the advice is free.
