Default Looking For Starter Plane - Kit - RTF ~ Advise?. New? Used?

I have been palying with RC trucks for about 6 years. I am ready to get into planes..

I need some advise on a good starter or trainer plane. I already picked up a 3 foot wingspan foam electric plane so I can get a feel for flight before I jump into gas powered. I also download the demo of a RC flight simulator "Realflight G4". I did not get the foam plane yet but will expect it soon. I would like to get a gas powered plane very soon also.

for my first plane I would like RTF complete kit. I dont know if I should get a cheap package off ebay new?. or go used on ebay or here in the buy/sell portion of this site.

Any advise is welcome. Thanks

Thundertiger has starter package: Plane, engine and 4 channel radio for less than $300. I am teaching a fella with this package. Plane flies good, good deal. He bought his locally here. Ace Hobby is the importer.

I've put together a list of planes that make good trainers and second planes. All of them on the list are proven planes that are well suited for successfully letting students learn to fly, or advance to a second plane. Check out the list here

You might also come and check out the [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/forumid_85/tt.htm]RCU Beginner's Forum[/link] . This is a forum that is dedicated to helping to get people started in this hobby.

Hope this helps

Here is a link to the plane "mscic-RCU" mentioned in post number 2:
http://www.thundertiger4u.com/thunde...de-p-7284.html
Plane, engine, radio, and basic field equipment; for $265.99 including shipping.
This plane is on RCKen's list and it's the most complete package I have ever seen.

I would avoid ebay at this point. While there are good deals there, there are also lots of bad deals and it is often hard to tell them apart.
