Default Hitec 2.4??????

Has anyone heard if Hitec is coming out with a 2.4 TX/RX?? I really like using Hitec and am looking to upgrade my TX in the near future and would like to stay with Hitec.

Default RE: Hitec 2.4??????

sent Hitec a e-mail and this was the reply i got. He replied in less than 5 minutes to!!!!!

Hello Geoff,

Hitec is currently working on a 2.4 GHz module/receiver combo for our existing systems that will be out in the future, but there is no release date at this time.

As for other aftermarket systems... if the shoe fits!!! 2.4 GHz modules are the RF and do not run through the radios electronics. Therefore, if the module fits it will work. This would include Spektrum and Futaba FAAST systems. The only reason Spektrum says there module is for Futaba only and not Futaba/Hitec is they want people to buy their DX7 instead of their module for your sub $300 Hitec radio. This way you will be locked into using only their RX instead of your 72 MHz stuff as well.

Thank you,

Martin S.

Wow! That sure is an interesting response. Maybe I've drank way too much industry Kool-Aid but that doesn't seem to make sense. Using the "shoe fits logic" ... wouldn't that mean you could use a Spektrum module in a Futaba 9C radio?

Anyone out there done what the above post is suggesting? Anyone willing to admit to it?[)] Not sure I'd be willing to chance my plane and other's safety to an ill fitting shoe. [8D]

A Hitec rep at Toledo told me there 2.4 system is due out late summer early fall.

It's 9 channel and the features will rival Futaba's 12z but at a much better price.

I normally use four Eclipse's but also have had one XPS module and Rx for some time now that I use in them. No issues.
