Nylon VS metal cable pull pull??
So heres a wierd question. When setting up a pull pull type control surface, (rudder for instance)
What if you used a nylon cord, such as used in bow strings, instead of steel cable? I know it would be strong enough but would there be any other reason not to do this?
Just a trivia question for later use in my RC journey

RE: Nylon VS metal cable pull pull??
Stretch would be my only concern. I'm sure nylon has improved over the years, guess I still wouldnt trust it. I use vinyl coated steel fishing leader wire, ~40lb. If its for small electric, that would be different. I think there is a carbon fiber thread or maybe some super duper fishing line that would work. Just speculating. Somebody else probably knows better than I.

For small planes ( e.g. .40 size) I use Spyder wire. this is a Kevlar fishing line sold at wal-mart, etc. It is strong and does not stretch. The only drawback is that you must tie a pretty fancy knot to keep the knot from slipping.
