Default T-fitting fuel feed line

Just wondering if it hurts anything to put a T-fitting between the carberator and the fuel tank. I was planning on using the T-fitting with a short line with a fuel dot to fuel my plane, because I really don't like the three line set up.

It depends upon the carburetor. If it is a carb on a gasoline engine, it will work fine. If it is a carburetor on a glow engine, it does not work so well. That is because gasoline carburetors have built-in regulators that effectively shut off the fuel when the engine is stopped. A glow engine carb, otoh, will allow fuel to flow. So when you are fueling, a lot of fuel will get forced into the engine, flooding it. You can pinch off the line to the carb when fueling.

Then don,t use a three line set up or Tee's which can be problamatical as DMcQuinn indicated depending on the engine type and its mounting orientation. Use a two line system just like a trainer and its done like this: Easy, simple, easier at the field fueling and with fewer failure modes than any other set up.
