Park Zone Spitfire
I went to the LHS to get some fuel for my glow planes and found a Park Zone Spitfire in the back of my truck when I got home. Any tips or or mods out there?

I've got no mods or tips for you, but one showed up at our field last year. Flew very well, was pretty quick and looked the part in the air. Until it made a divot in the trunk of a friend's cavalier.... Newbie pilot had no business flying such a plane....
You'll have fun with it!

Well. so far I'm not feeling the love. I had to dig up some new screws for the wing hold down. The ones in the box were to big. There are some pretty good gaps in the instructions too. It's not hard to put togther at all but if I was a newbe I would be totally confused.
I think the first mod will be a real radio and servos. (I've been thinking hard about getting a set of gear I can move around from foamy to foamy.) I'm not digging the battery charger that comes with it. I need a better charger for all my planes.
It looks pretty sharp though. Should be fun to fly. Not a bad deal for what it is.

Cool, I'm feeling some love today. I figured out what all the beeping means. I taped the elevator on and felt the wind on my face from the fan that's gonna pull this chunk-O-foam. I'm sure it'll be fun to dink around with but it ain't flying if it dosen't make noise
If it doesn't rain I'll give it a go tomorrow after work. Post a photo or two if anyone cares.

Man...wind, rain, work, family.
The world needs to stop bugging me so I can fly this thing. There's no good park near by. My club field is really the only good option.

I fly the Mustang, and its great.
I leave it in the truck and is I go to town and have 20 min. I hit the part and fly it. With the cost of fuel I figure it will pay for itself before summer is over.
good luck.

RE: Park Zone Spitfire
LOL! Well, it flew. I got 3 flights in today.
My throwing skills are rusty (and no it's not because I'm left handed.) The first throw was a dirt nap partially because of my throw and a need for a clevis turn of up trim. (broke some of the plastic bits but nothing CA can't fix. The second was good enough to get it airborne with some "oh-my-god flying."
The throw on the second flight I tripped and was flying for a few seconds with my belly on the runway craning my neck to keep an eye on the plane.
Third flight I got the hang of it and the throw was on the money.
It looks good in the air. Fast low passes really have the feel of the Battle of Britain. Like Jburry said it looks the part. I wish it was a bit more aerobatic the turn rate is good but the roll rate stinks once it goes past a quarter or half way. It's like it starts to stall then rolls over. Split S's looked cool but it wouldn't loop cleanly and without a rudder no stall turns, spins, or snaps.
The radio stinks. It's almost imposable to trim the plane with the old school sliders and the one stick thing was messing with my head. I think I'll get a couple of servos and a receiver and put it on my 7CAP where I can fine tune it more.
Landings were ok. I think it might be nose heavy the sink rate was a little high.
40 minuet charge time was a pain too. I'll take one of my glow planes next time too.
Still fun, I got my Spit fix...I might need to build a big one.

My mustang hit the dirt also, real bad hand launch. I shold never have let it go, just did not feel right. Didn't hurt it much a little tape and glue should fix it. What kind of glue does it call for????

I'd just use CA (super glue.) I'm also gonna change out all the radio gear. I'm not into messing with trying to rewire stuff.
Plus, its gear I can use on something else when the Spits expiration date comes up.

Ya, I was kind of thinking the same thing. I am flying indoors and when the mustang bits the big one I could put the radio in a made up indoor plane........
The mustang only needed some small fixing (Ok a little more than that ) its fly able , but am going to get a new wing. It will be like new with a new wing.[>:]

I HAVE THE J-3 CUB AND ALSO THE "FOCKEWULF". I FLEW THEM QUITE A BIT BUT I STILL SAY THERE IS NOTHING LIKE GAS. IF YOU PLAN ON USING CA ON THE PLANE BE SURE IT IS "FOAM SAFE" CA. THE OTHER CA WILL RUIN IT.

RE: Park Zone Spitfire
LOL...did the Germans deploy plane eating pine trees during the Battle of Britain? I think there is a nazi pine at our field.
Radio glitch...fortunately, all I had to do was shake the tree and it came right down. (small tree)
This little plane has been fun. I wish it was a little more aerobatic but it's got the lines on low passes. An even after the ding it flew fine.

LOL it just doesn't feel right using packing tape to fix an airplane. I got the tail back on and got two flights in yesterday. Flys fine. I may have to buy the Corsair that's coming out next month.
