Stripping Monocote
Pulled the old monocote off of my GP P-51 .40. Trouble is, the plastic sheeting part came off but in a lot of areas left behind the "color" sticking to the balsa. I suppose I can sand all this away, but this is tedious and time consuming not to mention taking a lot of wood away at the same time. Is there a solvent that wont hurt CA or Wood glue bonds and will dry without residue? I've thought about acetone. Any ideas???

RE: Stripping Monocote
I'm in the process of doing the samd thing right now on an ols Kaos. I think it's the fourth recover job, I know it's the second time I have done it.
I use acetone and A rag then A little sanding. If you use A heat gun to get it warmed up A bit it comes off easier, same with the covering when you start to remove it.
