Cambrian line of Fun Fighters - Your Experience???
Hi ppl
Has anyone here experience with the Hurricane and Me109 from Cambrian?
I've heard that the Hurricane is a tricky flyer but find it hard to believe as I own the Spitfire from them and it flies very well.
But I'm trying to decide between the Hurricane and Me.
Your thoughts would be appreciated

yessiry, you gotta love that Spit
I'm thinking of adding a little bit of Luftwaffe to the hanger just to balance things until I've got time to assemble my GP Stuka

Interesting
Do you know of some place on the web that I could get more info?
Maybe pictures to?
I doubled checked Cambrian list of fun fighters but it appears that they have not updated it yet with this new kit.
Cheers mate.

The url I gave is a direct one, cambriandirect.com is a so called url mask. You have your domain name but host your site elsewhere.
You can see it if you check http://wmwa.sverrir.net, that is the same as http://nemendur.ru.is/sverrir01/wmwa/, but the first url is a little easier to remember
Better go and check that pictures.

Cambrian line of Fun Fighters - Your Experience???
Hi
i know I am a bit behind in this thread but i have got the FW190 and am in the middle of building it right now. the preshaped LE's are actually square balsa stock and the ailerons are actually thicker than the TE of the wing before attaching the balsa TE.
The instructions apparently were meant to come with a sheet detailing all pasrts but also wasn't present in the box, although there is a large plan and a very vague set of instructions ie glue former 1 to former 2. harder when you don't know what former two looks like cos it is only ever shown attached already to former 1.
Apart from that it is starting to take shape, needs a bit of extra alertness when building and some carefull sanding to make the things fit together.
I know this sounds like a complint but actually i have seen all the other kits in their range fly and all are great, I am sure this will not be any different which is why it is worth the effort to build it. just got to find a bit of spare time between building my great planes corsair, bae hawk, and a10 thunderbolt. Maybe if I just worked on one model at a time I would get more finished.
good luck in finding the kit, I only managed to get hold of it at Wings and Wheels show a few weeks back, just got an OS 25fx to put up front. i will try to update when the build is finished.
Cheers
Nick

i think you'll find the FW190 is a CambriA not a CambriAN.
lets just say two guys start a comapany, one guy pisses the other off, guy leaves, starts new company selling the same kits under more or less the same name, both companys are now owned by diffrent people.
only CambriA make the 190, but they also do the Spit, 109 and Mustang. as far as i know it's a total copy of the CambriAN
to make matters worse.... at Woodsprings there was a CambriAN Mustang on show in the CambriA stand. don't you just love politics.
Got my new nose for the spitty btw, thanks CambriAN

Wow, what a predicament, that would be like Ripmax splitting in two then we would be subjected to two hours of their so called display team/travelling advertisers at the shows. There wouldn't be much time left for real flyers to demonstrate their excellant building skills.

Cambrian line of Fun Fighters - Your Experience???
lets see if my ****ing PC wont crash this time
Ripmax lol
At Woodsprings on the friday night two guys were flying Fighterbirds, one ditches it in the far field, the other flys over it, it beeps, yep, its there.
the numbnuts watches his mate fly over it three times but can't be bothered to walk over the little bridge, get in the boat to row the 4-5 meters to the other bank and walk maybe 30 paces. instead he left it there where someone found it perfectly intact when they went to get their wreck.
Later on Sunday 3 Magnums took off, they flew them like FunFlys, hence going a bit slow, 2 engines cut and the other went like a bag of $h*te for the rest of the flight, still, poor guys are only used to MDS's so can't be expected to tune a engine
talking of those, Jamie was horrorfied by how slow the 48 powered Rapiers were, so after hours he showed them how to do it with his MVVS 49 powered jobby, and Steve with his Leo 37 Mini Rapier.
Oh yes, politics....
I've talked with CambriAN who sent me a nose kit for my Spitty and V happy with what i said about the Spit and Mustang, but at Woodsprings ATC who are selling the CambriA kits asked Jamie if he might be a display pilot at some shows, and maybe me too if i'm around cos he needs pilots used to the planes and can show them off, whether if it's one of his, or our own flown in the slot.
oh dear lol
for me CambriAN are the orginial, me thinks this CambriA could be a bit naughty copyright wise...

RE: Cambrian line of Fun Fighters - Your Experience???
I have an Me 109 and my dad has a hurricane which he finds a bit scary. I flew his Hurry and exactly the same thing happened to me. Got to the top of the loop and it rolled out. I tried again, same thing. I wonder why. Must be something to do with wing shape. maybe the tips are wrong. need a bit of twist. If you power through the loop full throttle it seems ok. Also, the Hurry stalls much easier than the Me 109. Nevertheless, lovely little flyer.
I actually fly the Me with an old enya 15 which flys surprisingly well. Scale like. But the hurry needs alot of power I think. Got a 25 Os.

the 109 is like a small pattern ship, esp with a Leo 37 up front! the Hurricane i've only flown once for a friend, and it would snap out of loops, dont think it was the designs fault, just that one plane.
out of the ones i've flown, id say the Mustang and 109 are the best. my Spitfires nice with a rudder, knife edge flight on a 21 and mini gear

Hi Ashley Welcome to RCUniverse
The post you have replied to was last live in 2003.
However I have flown the Spit and the Hurry and both flew well considering the flat plate wing.
