Saito stripped camshaft gear
Flying the saito120 in my tyger 120 after a few minutes the engine went dead stick, landed the plane and checked the engine and there was no compression.
When I took the engine apart I saw the cam gear was half way stripped.
Can someone help here to find out what have caused the gear to srtip.
The cam gear cover was mounted thight no loose screws.

RE: Saito stripped camshaft gear
MORE INFO REQUIRED
If the engine was new I would say it was a bad cam, never seen one do that ever. What fuel (oil content), was it run in, what RPM from a tacho, what prop. The engine may have been over reved, See [link=http://saito-engines.info/throttle_setup.html]HERE[/link] for Satio setup.
Cheers
