Default Balancing Goldberg Ultimate

I have a question on CG on a Carl Goldberg Ultimate bipe.

Where do you set the center of gravity? Top wing? Bottom wing?
Upside right? Upside down?

I flew mine yesterday for the first flight, and it seems to be real touchy.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

I don't have the plans in front of me but I recall balancing on the top wing about a two finger joints length forward of the rear cabane bolt....

Exactly where it should balance is a personal preferance. Since you have flown it, you know it's not too tail heavy to fly.

But since it is "too touchy" you have two options, add nose weight (or move some equipment forward), or turn down the control throws.

Whichever way you go, make minor adjustments until the plane flies the way you want it to.

Hey ethal,

C of G is between 4" and 5 1/8 " back from the leading edge of upper wing. I took these measurements from my plans. Hope this helps.

This proves my point, you have an inch and an eighth to play with (that's a LOT). Shift some weight forward and try it again.

I am not an expert builder my self but i do know some one who is & his recomendation that ive heard him say is on the perticular goldberg bipe in question is just in front of the rear cabane, another words, put finger or balancer just in front of last brace of cabane (Between) both braces. In fact after watching him set it on a member of our clubs (goldberg) bipe it flew perfectly after that. So id say he was right.
