modify reciever ??
Has anyone tried to modify a reciever unit ?
I was thinking the servo decoder chip maybe had more outputs ?
so I just opened a 2ch reciever, and the decoder IC has many other outputs that are not connected, so I figured they are maybe ch3, ch4, ch5 and so on. the firms that develop recievers maybe have only one decoder chip for all their reciever models from 2ch to 8ch.. nice trick if it is possible to just solder a wire, and bingo one more channel output..

It works for some receivers, doesn't for others. It's not often as simple as connecting to the "extra" pins. You also have to find the "RESET" connection and move it to allow the extra channels to decode.
I very much doubt if you'll get 8 channels out of a 2 ch Rx but I know you can get 6 out of some 4 ch Rxs.

Even IF it would work, the minimal cost difference between a 4 channel Rx and a 6 channel IMO doesn't really make it worth the risk and/or effort. Sorry if my light hearted comment offended you, just having a little fun.
