Trying to remember what a plane was called?
Several years back my brother gave me a plane he had bought and didn't want anymore, and I'm trying to find out what it was called so I could possible get another one. It was a simple trainer, but it was a lot of fun because you really didn't have to worry about it much if you crashed. The fuselage was a piece of 2"(?) square plastic tubing, the tail boom was an alum. channel, the engine mount was a molded plastic piece that fit into the end of the tube, this one had an OS .40 in it. Like I said it was a real simple plane, the only parts that were balsa, was the wing, rudder and elevator. I thought it was called an Ugly Stick, or something similar.

Check out www.spadflyer.com, they have a trainer for less than the Duraplane that is similar and very tough and easy to fly.

Just checked for spadflyer. They seem to have disappeared. Too bad they produced a great spad arf with wheels and most hardware for less than $50.

Try this link . . . http://www.spadtothebone.com/
Here's my Great Planes Duraplane Aerobat currently the only other one available, that has a OS 52 four stroke, 10oz tank, converted to tail dragger, with two aileron servos side by side. I built it about 10 years ago. It has been cart wheeled a couple times. Didn't seem to hurt it. The wing loading is high but the plane is good in the wind.

I've actually got several planes, I was just brain-frying on the name of that one, I had a lot of fun with it cause I really didn't worry about crashing it. I don't know what happened to the one I had, I think it got lost in one of the moves I've made in the last couple of years.
