Never had a problem with my Spektrum. (Hope I'm not jinxing myself). How was the battery voltage under a load? Looks like you had some serious altitude, could it have gone out of range?

blhollo2,
One serious question about your situation. On your camera, what type of setup was it?? Was it all contained onboard the plane? Or was it a camera that had a downlink transmitted back to the ground? I asked this because some of those downlink type of cameras transmit in the 2.4 ghz range and have been known to cause interference with 2.4 Ghz radios.

I had fresh batts in the radio, and in the airplane...it was very weird it made me 2nd guess the radio but the 2.4 radio is "supposed" to be out of sight range so im baffled

I lost a SSE to a glitch with one of the early AR7000 recievers. cant remeber what Horizon said the issue was for sure , something about spiking the voltage below 4.8 and a delay of reconnection time, or something like that. Switched to 6 volt packs and never had any issues again.

Ive read many threads about Spectrum and JR 2.4 Rx's having "brown outs" or glitch's or rebooting. The majority of the time its been due to a 4.8v battery pack dropping below 4.8v due to servo loading.
IMO, you should definitely switch to a 6v pack. Hopefully that will eliminate your problem.
Why 2.4 systems w/ Rx's dont come with 6v packs is beyond me since this problem has been well observed for quite some time.
Best of luck,
James

Now that you mention it, they told me I could send it in, but the 6v battery seems to have fixed that issue, and that was about 2 years and many flights ago.
I did have an issue with an Ultimate lost it and got it back and landed . But after going over the plane , found the on/off switch would go on and off, by lightly tapping on it.
