Fuel Proof Paint help please
Hi All. Getting back in the hobby after 30 plus years of growing kids, etc. You know! Boy this hobby has changed!
I'm starting a 1/5 scale Sig Cub kit/ Saito 72 and need covering advice. I do not want to use shiny iron-on covering for this one.
I'm considering Sig's Koverall and paint/dope finish.
What is the popular/practical paint for fuelproofing, painting the fabric, etc?
I hear urethane is ok but haven't ever used it on a model. I have NOT found much info on paints, dopes, etc in my local hobby shops.
I did experiment with some polyurethane clear floor varnish on an oak plank for a run-in mount for the Saito...seems almost fuelproof...??

RE: Fuel Proof Paint help please
Thanks Rodney. Their stuff does look good. I've used HobbyPoxy previously on a Sport 40 racing Hydroplane with excellent results, but never thought of using it on aircraft...
What about the weight?
Gary.

No heavier than any other good finish, probably lighter than dope as it covers so well you rarely need a second coat. Their clear is also an excellent top coat for most any other paint or finish.
