Default Modifying Accu-cycle Plus for NiMh batteries? Has anyone heard of this?

A VERY SMART person knowledgible in electronics told me that the Accu-cycle will detect the peak on NiMh batteries. He said you have to slow down the charge rate. He recommended you solder a resistor (100-200 ohm, I believe he said) in series between the banana clips and the battery. This effectively slows down the charge rate so the NiMh can peak safely and the Accu-cycle Plus can detect it. What do you guys think about this?

I'm very interested in this. I too, bought the more expensive accu cycle plus, thinking it would do everything, only to find out it won't do NMH !!!! The lesser expensive one does both.... go figure!
