aileron differential
Hello all, I have a couple of questions for you. I'm putting togather a senior telemaster and will have a servo on each aileron, how do you set aileron differential when you don't have a computer raido? and also how do you set up flaps at say half flaps and full flaps ( two stops) without a computer radio and what kind of servo would you use thanks, Ronnie

RE: aileron differential
Most aileron horns already have the differential angle built into it. You can increase the differential by installing the servo arm at an angle towards the aileron or away from the aileron. You have to experiment which angle of the servo arm produces the most aileron differential. The most effective aileron differential is when the left aileron on a left turn has greater up angle than the down angle of the right aileron and vice versa on a right turn(right aileron has greater up angle than the down angle of the left aileron). This is because the ailerons also produce a yaw effect. You want the greatest aileron yaw effect on the left aileron on a left turn and vice versa on a right turn. The P-61 Black Widow of WW II fame was the tightest turning American fighter because of the spoilers on the wings producing the yaw effect increasing the turning rate...............even though it was the largest and heaviest American fighter of WW II.

RE: aileron differential
The attached shows two rigging setups. The "a" setup gives equal movement for the pushrod. The "b" setup gives more push than pull. The "b" setup is how many get aileron differential.
