Default Can I repair my muffler?

I have a Bisson pitts-style muffler on my O.S. 50SX, and after one too many hard landings, I've managed to knock one of the two exhaust stacks loose. It hasn't fallen off yet, but it rattles and buzzes quite noticeably when the engine is running. Just wondering if there's any way I can repair this, or do I just have to bite the bullet and buy a brand new muffler? I'd rather not spend the $30 - $40 if I don't have to!

JB Weld is always worth a shot:

It is available at most auto parts stores and home improvement stores. I just linked Tower for convenience.

Welding is my first choice but I have done it both ways. I had a couple of them rewelded for the price of the JB weld but when in a pinch JB works most the time. Clean and sand good, I use acetone to remove the old oil and use as rough sand paper as I can to help the JB hold.

Like has been mentioned, welding is your best option.

I also remember an epoxy type of product at one time though that was formulated for specific metals. You could buy specifically it for aluminum, steel, cast iron, etc. Supposedly it had the same thermal expansion & contraction properties as the metal it was intended for. It may of even had powdered metal in it. I can't remember who made it but I know I bought it at a local industrial supply. By the time you locate and buy it though you could get it welded just as cheap most likely.

Of course good old JB Weld can do some amazing stuff too.
