Default The best digital servo to buy is.........

For:
price/speed/torque

Please include servo specs if possible, and any horror or miracle stories, or direct comparisons that you can make based on your experiences.

Which surfaces should go digital first?

I'm going to be going digital on all control surface servos and not wanting to pay $100 per servo!!! And certainly not going to be buying them 5 at a time!!!

10lb. ~ 20lb. sport & warbird planes.

Thanks in advance............Dave

You basically have answered your own question by asking it. You dont want to pay 100 per servo wich leaves out JR and FUTABA. You are left with HITEC 5625 and 5645 at 54 a piece and hitec 59xx series for 89 a piece. The big difference between the two is that the 59xx series is coreless and has more torque. hope this helps

I have 4 Hitec HS-5475HB digitals on the ailerons and elevator halves of my World Models FunWorld 3D. I don't have much experience with them, but first impressions have been great. They appear to draw little power and I don't mind an unregulated 5 cell battery. I have seen some digital servos get jittery with a freshly charged 5 cell battery...

A little blurb from www.hitecrcd.com

HS-5475BB kicks off a whole new line of Hitec Programmable Digital servos. Featuring our exclusive heavy duty, high impact resin gear train technology and a programmable digital circuit the HS-5475 offers high performance programmable performance at a fraction of our competitor's price.
