U Can Do 46 modification
I was having problems starting my Magnum XL70 RFS, and getting it to run at a low idle. I tried all the tricks; starting inverted, pinching off the fuel line, etc. Nothing worked as good as re-mounting the engine upright.
I cut a spot for the servo under the canopy, and reinforced it on the back side with aircraft ply. Icut a hole in the dashboard to run the push rod through for the throttle. Icut a hole in the cowling for the motor.I'll probably glass it to cover the old holes this winter. IthinkI'm going to keep the hole in the front of the cowling, just for extra ventilation. It's still not idling real low, about 3500 - 3800, but she sure starts better!

I would suggest that you reinforce the LG mounting. If you do not the LG WILL tear out. As it twists backwards the wheelpants WILL rip into the bottom of the wing.
See the pictures. I made a TEE shaped aluminum plate.1end is sandwiched between the LG and the fuselage while the other is screwed to a plate inside the fuselage. A bit fiddly to install but quit do-able.

Yeah, it doesn't look too bad does it? I think I'm going to tint the canopy a dark black... just slightly transparent, in order to de-emphasize the servo. I don't know though, it kinda' looks cool like that. I'm also going to buy a new cowling, to hide all the unused holes now. I tried to re-fibreglass over the holes, and it looks like crap... too much work.
It sure does run a lot better, and starts TONS easier.
