Default OS-70 4 Stroke needs airplane

Bought an OS70 to use in Seawind and switched it out for a 91. Now I need a plane for the 70 4 stroke. I want a stick but the 40 is too small andd the 60 stick is too big. Your recommendations are appreciated.

I'm really enjoying my Venus 40 right now. It would do well with a .70 four stroke:

If you don't mind building, the Goldberg Clipped wing cub is ideal for an OS70

Another good choice would be a 40-size warbird

U can do 46 It should be perfect for a 70 4stroke. A guy at the field has one with a ys 63 and it hovers with power to spare so I think a 70 will be good. Also, the great planes cherokee is nice.

Idisagree. A .40 sized stick would be a great match up for the .70FS. Sticks are a LOTof fun when slightly overpowered.... especially with a four stroke. Ilove the way they really slow down on the downhill when you chop the power. You can fly them "scale like" by limiting your throttle application or can use two feet of runway and take off straight vertical!

These were the ones that came flashing into my mind right away. When Ifirst got my .70 it went right into the GP 40 size kit built Decathlon, WOW!!! Nice combo. Then it went into the GP 40 size kit built Cub, too much engine for the standard Cub but it was perfect for the clipped wing. Then I installed it into a 66 inch kit built Tiger Moth and it was pretty good, flew the plane well but just a bit under powered for any stunt work.
Ihave never installed one in any of the warbirds myself but I have seen a number of them using the .70 for power and they looked and sounded impressive.
The .70 was one of the great engines from OS and worked well in any 40 size plane and a lot of 60 size planes too.
When Iwas having problems with the CG on a Smith Mini Plane Iinstalled the .70 and that cured my problems and flew it a bunch better then the OS .46 FX two stroke I had in it.
Now the big question, what does a scale stick look like on a fly by???

TANGO - They fly great on the 70.  On high rates you can hold altitude in a flat spin.  Unlimited vertical.  The airplane is too draggy to go very fast but it will do amazing things with all that power..

If you're a builder, the Sig Astro Hog is a perfect match to a .70 four stroke. <input type="hidden" id="gwProxy"></input><input type="hidden" id="jsProxy" onclick="jsCall();" />

I had a lot of fun with my .70 four stroke in a Great Planes .40 size Mustang.

Your 70 will fly a 60 size ultrastick just fine. I flew mine on a saito 65 w/13X6 prop and it was fully aerobatic, it just did't fly real fast.

The 60 size US is a very light weight plane for its size.

That would be perfect in a 4*40. Had a Saito 65 in mine, perfect!

At our field, many had that engine in the Sig Senior ARF, another good combo.

I really like mine on my 4*60.  Kept it light, 7 lbs even.  Lovely with a 14x4 prop...not fast, but very aerobatic.  Depends on the kind of flying you like.  The GP CAP 40 kit is another idea if you want a smaller, high powered type.  The designer flew his with the OS .70 in competition and thought it was perfect.  Jim
