Default Engine vs Tank

Hey fellows. I'm going to mount my Saito 56 sideways in the next plane. Where would you think the top of a square tank should be in relation to the Saito?

Regards
Don

As with all fuel tank to carbarator positioning, the centerline of the fuel tank should be around 1/4th to 1/2 inch below the centerline of the carbarator. The top of the tank isn't a part of the equasion. It used to be in relation to the needle valve, however, now needle valves are many times located remotely from the carb. On your Saito, however, the needle valve is in the carb., so you can go from this position. The distance given above is measured while the aircraft is as it would be while in flight (not on the gound with tail down as in a tail dragger).

Is it an ARF? If so, just use the stock tank location. Yes, it is nice to get it just right but, in my opinion, it isn't absolutely necessary with most of todays engines/carbs.
