Foam core wing sheeting
Hi am am sheeting a Foam core wing with balsa sheet and have found that the sig core bond glue has gone half bad in the way that half the can has gone sort of hard like a can of paint when left open but this is a new can unopened.
Is there any other kind of glue that is ok to use on foam core wings?
thank you.
Daniel.

I haven't done this but years ago when I used to cut my own foam wings I used Titebond or similiar glue but you had to have the foam that the core was cut from to nestle in it and weight it down. I believe though you could use water soluble contact glue. That would not attack the foam.

RE: Foam core wing sheeting
Here in Britain most people used Copydex which is common at DIY shops etc. Its a latex glue and it used slightly diluted with water as a contact glue when veneering foam wings. Coated on both surfaces and left to dry. Maybe Copydex is avail in Canada?
It is worth saying that nearly all foam wings in Britain are veneered with Obeche veneer which is avail cheaply in large sheets, so no need to join narrow balsa. At the moment it is 2.90 pounds ( about 5 US dollars ) for a 12ich by 48 inch sheet. Thickness is advertised as .68 millimetre about 1/32 inch. A bit cheaper than balsa I think. Some other hardwood veneers have been used and Mahogany is one of them.
