Default Linking Futaba 2.4 to new receiver

I purchased a Futaba 7C-2.4GHz system last May. I installed the receiver in a new Hangar 9 D-VII and have flown it with no problem. Recently I purchased a new Futaba receiver, R616FFM, for a park flyer I have just finished building. When I went to link the new receiver to my transmitter, I get a blinking green light on the new receiver, which I understand to mean the new receiver is receiving a signal from the transmitter, but is not linked to the receiver. I have held the easy link button down for one second, two seconds, five seconds and a long time with the same result. What am I doing wrong?

My manual only lists the R617FS receiver for the 7C.
Did you get a FM receiver?

Default RE: Linking Futaba 2.4 to new receiver

This morning I got the new receiver to link up to my transmitter. I held the easy link button down about 30 seconds before letting it go. The LED light went to solid green and everything is working fine. Thanks
