Default Pnuematic Retract Oil/Lubricant

I have read a few different opinions on what's the best Oil to use, to Lubricate Pnuematic(Air) Retracts; right now I use Air-Tool Oil, specifically Lowe's Kobalt Brand Air Tool Lubricant; however, I read that you have to use Silicone Based Oil not Petrolieum Based? not sure what the Air Tool Oil that I use is made of, does this matter Silicone vs Petrolieum; and is Air Tool Oil appropriate to use or not; some have suggested BVM Thin Lube; Marvel Oil, etc;

Lets hear some feed back; Thanks.

A lot of patroleum based oils are not compatable with O-rings. The O-ring could swell, harden and disintigrate.
Silicone based oils or lubricants are compatable with virtually every type of O-ring. They can be purchased from NAPA and the like. If you want the best go to a Dive shop and get pure silicone, it's a food grade product and has no contaminents in it. Both sprays and pastes are available. Silicon itself is a better lubricant.
