Default What is the ABSOLUTE BEST PROP

i am an owner of a .91 four stroke engine. i am looking for the BEST 14x6 prop that is available, below $30. i am looking for thrust. noise is tolorable. i would also prefer less vibration, but it is not necessary

Default Up to $30 for a 14x6 prop...

It's obvious that you are willing to spend more money on props than I am...hmmm...

I prefer APC ($12) and B-Y&O ($8) The B-Y&O is a wooden prop available from www.brodak.com

Of course there are the exotic brands, too...buy'em if you wonna.

Depends on your application. Speed? Pattern? Scale? Sport?

I like APC as a general sport prop.

unlimited vertical. here is why i am specifying 14x6: i can't go lower than that because my plane is rather heavy, and won't fly at those low speeds. plus, even if it didn't, i would look really stupid putt-puttin by at 20 mph. where would i find a graupner prop? i already have an apc on order.

I think Graupner and APC make great props. But it really depends on your application.

What you want is a Graupner 13.5 x 8 They are outstanding on a 91 4-stroke, and will suit your Cap very well. (and under 10 bucks)

Check out the bolly clubman 13.5 x 8 It has a swept tip similar to the apc but not as sharp.
If wood is OK try a zinger pro 14 x 6

Default bolly props

http://www.bollyprops.com/clubmanintro.html

Not sure they make CF props that small. 18-6 is the smallest Ive run across in mejlik
I dont think that is what you want for a 91 anyway. CF props are usually a bit heavier and no prop on a 8+ lb plane with a 4 stroke 91 is going to turn it into a hovering machine
I have a 60 size Kaos that weighs about 7.75 lbs. It has good speed and very good vertical with the bolly clubman, but not unlimited with a saito 91

www.desertaircraft.com
They carry Bolly, Mejzlik, Menz & Air Models props. However most of these manufactures cater to larger sizes.

Default prop

I've got four planes with 91 four strokes. Two TF warbirds one 10.5 lbs one 11.5 lbs both fly well with Graupner 14-7 props. A Citabria @ 9 lbs flys with a APC 14-6. A CAP232 @ 8 LBS. with an APC 15-4W. Very good vertical, the W is for wide, not the thin sharp typical APC it actually resembles the Graupners.

every prop has its advantage. wood is better for your engine and has less sound. I use the master airscrew props for my trainer
