Default Any decent .46 size Biplanes?

Does anyone know of any decent .46 sized biplanes? I have seen the nitroplanes bipes. Not interested. Kyosho had a nice one but not sure if it's any good.

I should have rephrased the question. Who has a decent ARF Biplane. I'm not interested in a kit right now. I am tempted to buy the Super Skybolt but not really wanting a .60 size plane yet. I have servos and engine for a .46 size plane.

My WM Ultimate 40 is excellent. It's advertised to take a 46 and that'll most certainly be enough power.

It is NOT a docile bird. The SkyBolt is a good choice if you're looking to just bore holes and want them to look like = instead of - but the Ultimate does biplane stuff really good.

Yep, the WM Ulimate is a great small bipe. I wish I still had mine. Don't be fooled by the covering scheme; it is not the same Ultimate as sold by Nitro Planes although similar.

My WM Ultimate 30 must be pushing 10 years old. It's no longer advertised, but I see the WM Ultimate 40 they advertise now. The 30 is a good plane, still fly it every year, very nimble, not difficult to land. Set it up so the top wing stalls last (-.5 or -1 degree). Still does great four-point rolls, spins, inverted flight, etc. I'm not interested in hovering, but it will hang on the prop for 10 seconds or so with the .52 Magnum fourstroke.

Good luck,
Dave Olson

Hey Scar, I think someone awhile back said he thought the WM Ultimate30 was actually the Ultimate40 with a new name. It hadn't sold as a 30, and they decided to change the name to suit the market better.

I'm not sure he matched up the specifications, but truth is, the WM-U-40 would fly well with a decent 30 on it.

I used a .46-AX on mine. It was way more power than needed but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

If I were to do another one I think I would install a .52-.56 4-stroke.

A freind of mine has one with a Saito ,56 and it,s a little hotrod , flys nice. but is hard to see with the covering scheme.

Take a look at the Sig Sundancer 50 bipe (if it's still available). I've had one for 3 years and she's a good flyer considering I only fly her on less than optimum days.
