Default Buffing/sanding Nelson's clear

does anyone have any opinion or experience with going beyond just applying Nelson's clear paint? i'm interested in how much of a shine is possible with this paint. thanks in advance.

Default RE: Buffing/sanding Nelson's clear

I sprayed on Nelson's clear coat on a biplane last summer. I had mixed results in the quality of the finish with spraying, I think because of the low humidity here in Utah. So, I ended up sanding the finish down and brushing with foam brushes as suggested in the instructions. This finish dries very hard and sanding it with 320 wet/dry paper only dulled the high spots. Only experimenting will tell, but you might try some auto polishing compounds. Hope this helps.
