Magnum XL 1.20 queston
I have a chance to buy a used Magnum XL 1.20 2 stroke in exlt. condition. The compression is excellent and the bearings are great. What should I expect to pay for this engine.
Thanks

RE: Magnum XL 1.20 queston
justengines sells the ASP 1.20 two stroke for 110 pounds. That converts to about 180 US Dollars. ASP & Magnum are made by the same factory and are very similar. Lots of used engines seem to sell for half (or less) of new price.

RE: Magnum XL 1.20 queston
My only experiance with big Magnum two strokes is the 1.80, I installed it on an eighty inch midwest Cap I built for a friend.
It was a mistake and the power was terrible for its displacement If the 1.20 is anything like the 1.80 then they are worthless in my book. It had to be replaced after two flights careful flights. While it ran well and was reliable it Did not even begine to approach the power of say a Moki 1.8
This might be the reason they don,t seem to be on the market anymore.

I would think it would go in the $100 or so range if it's in good shape. It's a little heavy compared to the new OS 1.20 and is not a particularly powerful engine. Good for sport flying but it's not worth a lot.
